Scrum-half enjoyed a brilliant campaign!

SCRUM-HALF Joe Swift was crowned Colts Extra As Coaches’ Player of the Year following a string of fine performances.

Despite suffering for numbers at times, the Extras enjoyed a strong campaign when they were on the pitch.

A 14-12 friendly win at home to Dorking was backed up with a thrilling 29-26 triumph versus Camberley.

Charlie Neale and Matt Croft both collected hat-tricks in a big league win against Chesham.
The latter made it back-to-back trebles in a 45-7 success at Basingstoke, No. 9 Joe with his first score of the season.

The Extras then won a simply sensational contest 59-40 at Ealing Trailfinders, before completing a hard-fought 17-10 win at Windsor.

Joe rounded out a fine personal campaign by scoring in the Colts’ final victory at Cinderford.

Squad manager Ian Parsons said: “Joe is a good player and was unfortunate (captain) Elliot (Jones) didn't miss a league or cup game all season – he wouldn't have let anyone down.

“Joe was excellent in all Extras games and impressed the coaches in training with high attendance, willing to learn, never complaining and always giving everything.

“He is quiet off the pitch but a thoroughly nice lad and a worthy winner.”
