THEO Pett-Ridge marked his return to action with a brilliant hat-trick as Berkshire Under 20s won 59-19 at Oxford University Whippets.

The hosts took a second-minute lead with a converted try, only for former unbeaten two-time OBB Division One Colts champion Matt Cox to add to a score from University of Reading wing Ethan Bassett.

Two more Rams came to the fore as Ant Jessett and Aaron Preston touched down, Cox converting the former before Pett-Ridge opened his account for a 26-7 lead.

The Students hit back with a seven-pointer before the break, but Pett-Ridge completed a sensational 12-minute treble to push his side 40-14 midway through the third quarter.

The two sides exchanged unconverted tries before another Ram, Luke Thorpe went over, his great mate Cox landing a sixth kick for 5219.

And there was still time for another for the visitors, Reading Uni man George Alderson the scorer.

Aside from the point-scorers, there was further Rams representation via Jake Jackson, Joseph Barrett, Obi Nwachuku, Ollie Ireland and coaches Seb Reynolds, James Baker, Mike Cooke and Ollie Taylor.
