SUPREME NAVETTA NABS CAPTAIN'S TROPHY GONG

Rich Ashton11 Jun - 07:00

Full back enjoyed superb season for the Colts!

LEADING point-scorer Jordan Navetta was Elliot Jones’ Colts’ Captain’s Player of the Year after a brilliant campaign.

The full-back was superb throughout the OBB Division One runners-up effort, while also helping his side reach the last 16 of the National Cup.

He began the season as he meant to go on, landing six conversions in the 52-24 friendly triumph at home to Dorking.

Another fine display helped Rams overcome Maidenhead 52-7 in the league opener, before he slotted a couple more kicks in the 24-0 victory at rainy Reading RFC.

Jordan chipped in with 15 points – six conversions and a penalty – in the 50-5 first-round cup success against Marlow.

He then matched that effort in the only league defeat at home to Chinnor, albeit this time with two tries and five points from the tee.

The No. 15 then landed two penalties and a conversion to help Rams edge past Windsor 23-19 in the third round of the cup.

And another 22 points came during the 52-0 league victory at Oxford Harlequins courtesy of two tries and six conversions.

Sadly the cup dream ended in a narrow 13-8 home loss to Dorking, Jordan slotting one penalty.

But he proved back to his best in back-to-back league triumphs against Marlow (48-0) and Newbury (50-0).

In the first he grabbed a try and four conversions, in the second an extra try with another eight points from the tee.

Jordan’s try-scoring hot streak continued in the 29-5 friendly win against Reading, two more conversions added to his tally, before he slotted another two in the 19-10 league finale at Windsor.

It was a result which secured second place for Rams.

And he added a final try and four more conversions during his side’s home send-off in a 43-14 victory against Chinnor.
