RYAN ON SCORESHEET BUT BATH BEATEN IN PREM FINAL CLASSIC

Rich Ashton25 Feb - 08:00

Former Mini's sensational campaign ends with heartbreaking Bristol reverse!

RAMS Colt Ryan Carr continued his brilliant season with a try for Bath Under 18s, but they were edged out 38-36 in an incredible Prem Academy final by Bristol Bears.

Unbeaten in the league stages, Bath took an early lead as flanker Alex Yeabsley touched down, their opponents hitting back as Casper Reeves crossed out wide before Bruno Lamb added the extras.

Ryan, who bagged a brace to help Rams defeat Windsor in an OBB Division One title-decider last March, then collected a deft Declan Treacy chip to slide over, Max Hooper converting.

The kicker then repeated the trick following No. 8 Georgia Faosiliva’s effort for 19-7.
But Bristol hit back before the break with a Will Papp seven-pointer.

And Bears then continued to flip the contest on its head as Malachy Parsons, second row Monty Wells and Papp put their side 33-19 up, Lamb with two more conversions.

Stan Walsh got Bath back into the contest before Casper Wheeler blasted over for 38-24.

But replacement Malachi Randolph rode two mauls over to reduce the deficit to two points for Bath, setting up a grandstand finish.

But time ultimately ran out on their dreams of regaining the title they won in 2024.

*Congratulations Ryan (pictured in the red scrum cap) on your performance and we hope to see you back at Old Bath Road soon!
