RAMS LEGEND ROBBIE TO RETURN IN DUBAI

Jez and Amor also in action for Brave Mind!

RAMS record-breaker Robbie Stapley will make his return to action in Dubai later this month.

The iconic No. 8, the club’s top first-team try-scorer with 105 in 245 league outings, retired at the end of last season but will represent Brave Mind in the Vets 10s competition from November 28-30.

He is joined in the squad by two more club legends in the form of Jez Flynn, the previous top marksman with 101, and Andy Amor.

The latter played more than 300 games for the club and accrued 315 first-team points, including 59 tries.

They will head to the United Arab Emirates not just to play, but also to continue the work of mental health charity Brave Mind, with founder Si Trower admitting he is ‘beyond excited’ to have a team in the competition.

The team are looking to raise £2,000 to help the people of Dubai and Si continued: “Brave Mind was set up to make a positive, lasting difference to the rugby community’s mental health and wellbeing.

“With a vision to save and improve lives, promote positive mental health and drive the conversation for everyone in the rugby community.

“We are planning on running workshops for young people and their support networks in local schools covering topics such as managing anxiety, stress, and resilience.

“Using sport as a fun, practical platform, we want to help build confidence on and off the pitch.

“Our incredible sponsors have already backed our journey, but we’re still looking for donations and supporters who can help us bring these workshops to life and make a real difference for people in Dubai and beyond.”
