RAMS Colts turned on the style with a blistering 51-0 home win against Henley in their opening OBB Division One game of the season.
An early Sam Rodger penalty put the hosts in front before outstanding inside centre Will Luff blasted through the middle for the opening try.
Rodger added the extras before Rams added a sublime score.
Their continuity play was in full force before a back-of-the-hand inside ball from Matt Croft sent scrum-half Joe Swift across the whitewash.
The extras made it 17-0 to the hosts, converter Rodger then dropping a ball on the left wing with a chance to extend the lead.
Henley rallied, however, and it took some outstanding home defence to win a goal-line turnover.
The hosts’ lead was nearly extended in bizarre circumstances as Rodger’s chip ahead bounced off the cross-bar, only for Rams to knock-on beyond the try-line.
The fly-half – in conjunction with the outstanding midfield partnership of Luff and captain Will Hanman-Killick – continued to pull the strings though.
And while Rodger pushed a 35-metre penalty wide right, he knocked over another for 20-0 at the break.
Rams came out firing after the interval, though.
Luff first made a scything break in midfield before Henley infringed inside their own 22.
A kick to the corner then set-up the chance for the centre to power over for his second next to the posts.
Rodger slotted the kick to extend the lead.
And things got better for the home side when No. 8 Adam Cox showed serious strength to secure the try bonus-point, blasting through a couple of would-be defenders.
A depleted Henley – struck by injury and unavailability – showed tremendous heart, however, holding up another possible score over the line.
But Rams tight-head Matt Ball managed to power over for a try added to by Will Oakley.
The home side were now in full flow and the outstanding Hanman-Killick produced a ridiculous off-load to send wing Alex Andrews over the line on the right.
And more superb continuity work from a slick Rams side ended with Matt Croft dotting down on the left wing to complete the scoring.
The Colts next host old rivals Chinnor in the last 64 of the National Cup on Sunday, November 15.
A big crowd would be appreciated for what should be a fabulous affair.
